Regional Security Advisor

The Regional Security Adviser (RSA) will provide Protective Security advice and support to assist in:

·         Developing and maintaining protective security policies and procedures.
·         Monitoring and reporting on compliance with mandatory security framework requirements.
·         Preparing, monitoring and reviewing security plans and risk assessments.
·         Developing security culture through programs of security awareness and education.
·         Assisting site managers and staff fulfil their security responsibilities.
·         Providing protective security advice.


·         Provision of timely, accurate and appropriate protective security advice to staff and contractors.
·         Contribute to the development, management and delivery of identified protective security projects.
·         Contribute to responses to a wide range of operational security matters for the company Australia-wide, and provide support to colleagues as necessary.
·         Identification and reporting of emerging security issues/incidents/trends and provide suggested solutions where applicable
·         Contribute to the development and socialising of security awareness resources.
·         Participate in the delivery of various face-to-face security awareness training sessions to staff Australia-wide.
·         Conduct Site Security Reviews at offices Australia-wide.
·         Liaison with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

Essential Criteria:

·         Demonstrated Australian Government protective security experience and/or qualifications.
·         Demonstrated ability for continuous learning and innovative thinking.
·         Demonstrated knowledge of Australian Government and protective security policies and procedures or the demonstrated ability to quickly acquire such knowledge.
·         Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a Protective Security Team and across different business areas to achieve a broad range of security outcomes.
·         Demonstrated well-developed oral and written communication skills.
·         Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with colleagues on building security awareness through a workplace.
Security Requirements:

·         Pre-employment checks will be required for all successful candidates and dependent on the role the appropriate working with children and/or vulnerable people checks may need to be undertaken as per State Legislation.
·         Have or the ability to obtain a Negative Vetting Level 1 security clearance assessment, conducted by the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA).
This role may require the occasional interstate travel, necessitating absence from home for up to several days at a time.
