Review Officer

The Client has been established to deliver a streamlined and consistent approach to the triage of reviews and management of internal reviews. 
The Client aims to have the reviews and management of internal reviews to be undertaken in a timely and complaint manner, and safeguard participant appeal rights.

The Case Officer will manage a profolio of plan review requests. The Case Officer will examine all relevant documentation relationg to a request reviiew and request further information when necessary. 
The Case Officer will develop a recommendation on a decision in response to the request, including collating the relevant supporting documentation and drafting reasons for the decision. The Client will then review the recommendation and make a decision on the request.

 Analyse requests for review and categorise according to Clients legislation
 Prioritise workload in response to legislative timeframes
 Contact participants and their representatives by telephone to clarify requests and obtain further evidence to support the request
 Provide information on the Clients review process to participants and their representatives
 Assess requests for review against legislative requirements and operational guidelines
 Draft clear, concise and plain language decision letters in response to requests for review
 Communicate effectively with participants and their representatives to explain reasons for decisions, the review and appeals process and options open to them

Skills and Personal Attributes:

 Positive contemporary attitudes to people with disability.
 Understanding and knowledge of disability and its impact on individuals.
 Experience with supporting people with a disability to maximise participation in community.

People of Government/Ombudsman background are highly desirable.
