Responsibilities:
- Undertake building inspections and assessments to ensure compliance with building regulations, standards, and codes.
- Provide advice and guidance to stakeholders regarding building regulations and standards.
- Review and approve building plans, specifications, and documentation.
- Coordinate with relevant parties to ensure the timely and accurate completion of building projects.
- Provide technical support and advice to other council staff on building-related matters.
- Manage and maintain accurate records and documentation related to building projects.
- Conduct investigations and resolve complaints related to building projects.
- Participate in meetings with stakeholders and provide input on building-related matters.
- Degree in Building Surveying or a related field.
- A minimum of five years of experience in building surveying or a related field.
- Knowledge of relevant building codes, regulations, and standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with building software and technology.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
