Position Overview

The Cyber Security Governance, Risk, and Compliance Team is building its capability with the aim to elevate its maturity - assisting significantly with that venture by establishing the capability to provide assurance to senior leadership through the effective assessment and reporting of cyber security compliance within the Agency.
The right candidate will assume the role of an Senior Manager – Cyber Security Compliance, acting as an advocate and champion for cyber security. This will include providing leadership, influencing key stakeholders, driving appropriate behaviour and culture changes, building awareness through effective communication, and leading the strengthening of cyber security knowledge and capability across the workforce and their practices. This is a role that reports directly to the Director – Cyber Security Governance, Risk & Compliance.

The Senior Manager for Cyber Security Compliance is responsible for:

  • the assessment of and reporting on the compliance of personnel, ICT systems, processes, and frameworks within a cyber security context
  • lead a small team to work with internal and external stakeholders to establish and implement the Agency’s cyber security compliance capability
Essential Requirements: 
  • Three or more years of experience in Cyber Security Governance, Risk, and Compliance.
  • Knowledge of and experience with relevant government security frameworks such as the PSPF, ISM etc.
  • Significant knowledge and experience with enterprise information and cyber security processes, concepts, and best practice with exposure to government cloud models.
  • The successful candidate will hold or can obtain an AGVA-issued security clearance.
  • Must be an Australian Citizen.

Desirable but not mandatory:
  • ICT risk and compliance management experience
  • CISSP/CISM or equivalent certifications are preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in effective reporting to executive management
  • Demonstrated experience in adaptive leadership and collaboration and in challenging change environments
Entry Level checks will be required for all successful candidates and dependent on the role the appropriate working with children and/or vulnerable people checks may need to be undertaken as per State Legislation.
