Senior Digital Communications Officer

As the Senior Digital Communications Officer you will be responsible for growing, managing and contributing to social media platforms. You will have substantial experience with social media strategy, content creation, development, publishing and analytics, including knowledge of government policies relating to the electronic delivery of information and accessibility. 
You will be responsible for building the online audiences and engagement levels on all social media platforms with the ultimate aim of ensuring participants and providers have the information they require. You will bring to this role your relevant digital communications and marketing experience, insight, knowledge and commitment to meeting communications needs and communicating effectively to broad and diverse audiences. You will be a strategic thinker and team player who builds trust and respect and relishes the challenge of operating in a complex and changing environment.
  • Managing the day-to day engagement through social media platforms, and working closely with your digital communications peers
  • Providing strategic advice and support around the development and delivery of communication through social media
  • Overseeing a team of two in the implementation of high quality content on social media channels
  • Investigating social media best practice, undertaking analysis and benchmarking and providing advice on the performance of digital channels and social media to ensure growth and engagement
  • Managing competing priorities while maintaining high work standards and accuracy.

  • Work closely with peers and teams to manage performance and provide expertise and assistance on complex matters
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to develop and maintain networks
  • Ability to negotiate effectively by listening to differing ideas and views to develop a clear understanding of the issues, and to present persuasive counter-arguments
  • Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information
  • Highly developed ability to synthesise and analyse complex information and make decisions.

  • Experience in social media management, communications, journalism or a related field.
