Senior Procurement Manager

Working for one of Australia’s top telco providers the Senior Procurement Manager will be responsible for category planning, sourcing, go-to market activities, contract implementation, and ongoing supplier management for Corporate Services contracts. In this role you will support the Enterprise and Technology team to prioritize the pipeline of strategic initiatives, providing direction to the Senior Sourcing team in accordance with procurement policies and procedures.
 
Day to day duties will include:
  • Provide procurement services and advise on procurement matters to the team and other key stakeholders to assist with management of cost, value, and performance drivers
  • Plan and secure externally sourced goods and services providing sustainable value
  • Procurement support and administration, including probity engagement, as required
  • Administer contractual obligations specific to commercial processes and payments
  • Assist in negotiation and management of contract deliverables in conjunction with stakeholder objectives
  • Provide financial and commercial analysis and reporting against the Project as required
  • Engage with Procurement colleagues, business stakeholders, and supplier representatives to achieve best outcomes
  • Communicate effectively with business stakeholders to understand benefits and risks of procurement activities that encourage informed decision making
  • Running tenders/RFPs from the point of view of interacting with suppliers to discharge the competitive procurement process (RFP/Tender etc) and ensuring probity is maintained. Running evaluations, Conflict of Interest form, NDAs etc.
  • Monitor and manage contract performance and compliance in accordance with contracts, contract management plans, risk management plans, quality management plans and governance
  • Support onboarding of Suppliers
  • Lead education of the team on procurement policy updates
 
Successful applicants will possess the following skills and attributes:
  • At least 7 years’ experience in a Procurement or supply chain commercial function
  • Strong negotiation skills with at least 5 years’ experience in leading highly complex, commercial negotiations and managing the supplier dispute resolution process
  • Degree qualified in Commerce, Finance, Engineering, IT or a business-related field preferred
  • Experience in leading and managing a team of procurement professionals
  • Proven track record of leading the development and implementation of procurement and category strategy
  • Experience in developing and implementing effective Supplier Relationship Management frameworks
  • Experience in leading multi-million-dollar deals, with a proven ability to interpret complex contractual requirements and multi-national or federal procurement rules
  • Strong experience drafting commercial contracts and a well-developed understanding of contract law
  • Commercial acumen with a demonstrated ability to identify, negotiate, and deliver procurement benefits
  • Proven ability to build relationships and consistently engage with senior level stakeholders to maintain a customer and delivery focus.
  • Experience with using a Contract Management System / Database or other ERP platform preferred
  • Relevant experience with supply contracts and support arrangements for highly engineered business-critical equipment in telco or related industries preferred
