Senior Security Policy Officer

Our client is seeking a Senior Security Policy Officer to develop policy content and support implementation in the area of Protective Security & Cyber.

Your duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Provide strategic policy advice to the Director and other senior leaders
  • Manage and co-ordinate a wide range of tasks undertaken by your team, including policy research and analysis, regulatory performance reporting, development of implementation plans for the Protective Security & Cyber Branch, development of a stakeholder engagement strategy and development of grant funding proposals when necessary
  • Prepare high-quality correspondence, including briefings, minutes and reports ranging in complexity
  • Build and sustain positive and productive working relationships with stakeholders
  • Support other Branch staff assisting in policy development and preparation of briefs and correspondence
  • Representing the department at inter-departmental meetings, conferences and seminars
To be considered you must possess the following skills and experience:
  • Relevant security qualification, such as a Diploma of Security in Government or Diploma in Security Risk Management
  • Knowledge and experience in the area of Protective Security in Government
  • Strong strategic, analytical and conceptual problem-solving skills including experience in research and development of complex policy issues at the EL1 level
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to lead and motivate others
  • The candidate must have demonstrated knowledge of and experience in the development and implementation of complex policies involving multiple stakeholder
A minimum Baseline security clearance is highly regarded as well as an understanding of or lived experience in the field of disability.
