Senior Strategic Procurement Specialist

The client:
This is a Government-owned commercial organisation with a fantastic open working environment where you can lend your procurement expertise.

The role:
This role is a key member of the commercial team responsible for continuous improvement of the purchasing function 

Responsibilities:
  • In this role, you will continuously evaluate and improve the purchasing activities of the group; leveraging purchasing power throughout the group
  • Develop and maintain detailed category strategies and help them prioritise activities that will deliver value for the organisation
  • Lead all procurement activities with a value great that $1m
  • Ensure all activities undertaken are in line with policies and procedures
  • Assess supplier capability to ensure all suppliers can deliver against agreed targets
  • Provide advice and guidance to key stakeholders on acquisition processes whilst delivering commercial outcomes
  • Other duties as required
 
Background:
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in business or commerce is desirable
  • Proven ability to interpret and apply complex frameworks and policies as well as the ability to apply critical thinking to solve problems
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data, assess expenditure trends and analyse lifecycle costs
  • Previous experience using SAP or a large ERP system
  • Experience in supply chain analytics and opportunity analysis as well as continuous improvement
  • Australian citizenship essential
