Mechanical Service Technician

Our client is a world-leading supplier of mechanical seals, seal support systems, power transmission couplings and packing products for the oil and gas industries. They are now seeking a Mechanical Service Technician for a role located in Canningvale.
The role will be responsible for providing engineered sealing solutions for aftermarket reliability issues, with extensive liaison with customers to ensure that a satisfactory solution is provided to any field issues relating to gas seals. Duties and Responsibilities
  • Strip, assess, repair, assemble and re-install Mechanical Gas Seals for customers predominantly in the Oil and Gas Industry
  • Work with customers (internal & external) & conduct Root Cause Analysis sessions to resolve seal related issues.
  • Undertake seal inspections and generate technical reliability reports. Recommend and follow through seals upgrades and commercial opportunities
  • Project manage multiple in parallel jobs to conclusion ensuring appropriate feedback into the organisation and to the customer in a timely manner
  • Identify problems and design/develop resolutions to the customer's satisfaction. Work alongside customers and at supply base to resolve and prevent issues.
Required Skills and Experience
  • Trade qualification - preferably mechanical
  • Experience with mechanical seals, pumps & sealing solutions - highly preferable
  • Experience in a customer facing role within a engineering manufacturing environment;
  • Ideally familiar Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
  • SAP software knowledge - an asset, but not essential
  • A proactive and self-motivated person, with strong communication skills with the ability to easily translate technical data to a commercial understanding
