Ignite are working with our Large Federal Government Client to find a Solution Architect on a long-term contract.

The Solution Architect will be responsible for providing the following, including but not limited to:
  • Providing Technical Assurance of solutions across a broad range of ICT infrastructure environments;
  • Developing, contributing and reviewing technology and system architecture artefacts (solution designs / blueprints);
  • Ensuring artefacts produced are fit for purpose, adhere to the architecture standards and patterns, and are suitable for approval to the respective governance boards;
  • Determining traceability of ICT Detailed Design to higher level documentation;
  • Translating business requirements into functional system requirements by conducting complex/technical researching and analysis activities;
  • Providing technical leadership, guidance and support in the deployment of complex applications and systems in the Department’s ICT environment;
  • Driving and delivering innovation to meet broader DIBP requirements;
  • Provision of strategic guidance, leadership to team members including developing, coaching and mentorship of junior or less experienced staff to ensure appropriate skills transfer; and
  • Building and maintaining effective working relationships with specific business owners, system owners and delivery teams.

The sucessful candidate will have: 

  • 5+ years’ demonstrable experience in ICT systems architecture;
  • Demonstrated experience in designing solutions across a broad range of ICT infrastructure environment including both public and private cloud services;
  • Proven ability to work within a structured IT governance framework and deliver results that adhere to relevant Commonwealth standards and policies;
  • Highly developed analysis, problem solving, leadership and management skills;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, particularly relevant in translating technical information to non-technical peers and stakeholders;
  • Strong documentation writing skills around solution designs, decision documentation, and build and configuration guides;
  • High level of management skills including the ability to lead and plan to produce high standards of results on budget within tight timeframes;
