Video Testimonials - Recent Graduates have your story shared

Queensland Minerals and Energy Academy (QMEA) is an industry-led partnership between the Queensland resources sector represented by the Queensland Resources Council (QRC) and the Queensland Government through the Gateway to Industry Schools Program.

QMEA, in conjunction with the Department of State Development, Manufacturing, Infrastructure and Planning (DSDMIP) is producing an integrated suite of materials to improve the knowledge of teachers, careers advisers and students of the minerals and energy sector related to science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), vocational education and training (VET) and mining, engineering, technology services (METS) careers.

One key part of this project is the development of case study videos, focusing on selected professional or trade pathways.  The career types selected represent the needs of these sectors, as identified through skills shortages and areas of predicted high demand.

QMEA and DSDMIP are seeking young people (below 30 years of age) and / or recent graduates / tradespeople, from a diverse range of cultural backgrounds and genders to be interviewed and featured in a case study video.

Each chosen career type will be featured in a 1 minute video, highlighting the chosen pathway, reason for choosing a career in METS or minerals and energy, and the talent’s experiences of working in the sector.  In addition to face-to-camera footage, other footage of the talent within a social context or their workplace will be included to provide context to young people, teachers and career advisors around the nature of work within that career. This may include filming at their workplace.
