Workplace Health & Safety Advisor

We are seeking an experienced Workplace Health & Safety Advisor for a short-term contract assignment with a local government organisation. Sitting under the People & Culture division, you will be responsible for the ongoing development & implementation of the organisation's Workplace Health & Safety plan. Working with and advising senior stakeholders, you will reviewing & rolling out a variety of policies & procedures. This is a fast-paced and varied temporary role that will start in late May and continue for approximately two months.

About You

  • Knowledge of WHS issues and experience delivering WHS solutions & providing advice to key stakeholders
  • Strong relationship building and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience with workers compensation & supporting employees returning to work
  • Excellent time management skills, including the ability to work well in a deadline-driven environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including negotiation skills & report preparation

About the Role 

  • Develop & promote initiatives to enhance awareness of safety in the workplace
  • Provide specialist support & training to the wider organisation on a range of WHS matters
  • Compliance & incident reporting
  • Record management for all WHS-relatedi nformation
  • Administer workers compensation claims, including return-to-work programs
  • Assist with injury management strategies and programs
