  • To manage community engagement and communication activities for major projects from planning to delivery.
  • To deliver effective communication with community and key stakeholders regarding projects.
Develop Communication and Engagement Plans:
  • Develop and implement communication and stakeholder engagement plans focussed on supporting design development and managing construction related impacts.
  • Ensure consistency within the organisations communications and stakeholder relations governance and standards.
  • Proactively identify potential risks and issues and develop mitigation strategies in response.
  • Seek opportunities to improve community and stakeholder outcomes.
  • Provide clarity around the reason for communications and their intended outcomes.
Manage Key Stakeholder Relationships:
  • Identify, develop and maintain positive relations with communities and stakeholders affected by current and proposed projects.
  • Maintain open and constructive relationships with client, local governments and other key stakeholders such as businesses and community groups.
  • Report directly to Manager, Community Engagement on communication and stakeholder management for each project.
  • Work closely with the Project Manager to proactively manage emerging issues.
  • Ensure internal communications channels are provided with updated information throughout the project lifecycle.
Implement Construction Communication and Engagement Plans:
  • Implement stakeholder and community engagement activities in close consultation with the project team and other internal stakeholders including Public Affairs, Customer Experience, Local Government and other project partners.
  • Engage key stakeholders throughout the development stage to inform project design and planning
  • Provide day to day management of community engagement and communication activities for infrastructure projects.
  • Prepare communication material such as brochure, advertisement, display material etc.
  • Effectively notify impacted stakeholders and community about construction related impacts through notification letters, trader visits, briefings and signage.
  • Prepare and implement community information session and stakeholder briefings as required.
  • Respond to enquiries and complaints in a timely manner.
  • Proven track record of strong focus in engagement with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience managing sensitive community issues.
  • Experience in the delivery of major infrastructure projects.
  • Proven industry experience and tertiary qualifications.
  • Sound understanding and awareness of the transport and cultural needs of Melburnians.
  • Good knowledge of the public transport network.
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and project management skills.
  • Sound organisational skills with the ability to handle several projects at one time and manage competing deadlines.
  • Computer literate with various Microsoft applications and InDesign.
The successful candidate will be contracted to Mid-March 2020 and have the opportunity to work with a collaborative and progressive team.
